Elder Law

Elder Law is a significant practice area of the firm due to the aging population. The focus of our Elder Law practice is to help our clients and their families gain or retain eligibility for public programs to pay for community-based care, nursing home care, medical care and rehabilitative services. For elders, strategies can include the transfer and retention of assets and funding of trusts for the elder’s benefit and the preparation of estate planning documents like wills, trusts, health care proxies and durable powers of attorney. For families with disabled children, we often recommend the establishment and funding of trusts that do not interfere with the child's eligibility for public benefits.
